Why a Hat Is Often the Best Piece in the Order

A t-shirt gets worn on the weekend. A good hat gets worn every day. It goes to job sites, golf courses, the gym, the airport and the stands, and in Las Vegas it’s practical gear for anyone who spends time outside. That makes a custom hat one of the most-seen places you can put your logo.

Hats also work in situations shirts don’t. They’re one-size or close to it, so there’s no size run to guess at. They’re easy to hand out at a booth, pack in a welcome box or sell at a merch table. And because the logo sits right at eye level, people actually notice it.

Pick Your Hat Style

We carry a wide range of hat styles and embroider both structured and unstructured hats. The style you choose changes how the logo looks, so it’s worth deciding first:

Structured Caps

A firm front panel that holds its shape. Logos sit flat and crisp, the go-to for a clean, professional look.

Baseball-Style Caps: Mid or High Profile

The classic curved-bill cap. A mid-profile crown sits lower for an easy everyday fit; a high-profile crown has a taller front panel that gives your logo more room.

Trucker Hats

A front panel with a breathable mesh back. Popular for crews, outdoor events and merch.

Unstructured “Dad Hats”

A soft, relaxed crown that sits lower on the head. Casual from day one, and best with smaller, simpler logos.

Flat Bills & Snapbacks

A bolder, streetwear look, often with an adjustable snap closure. Clothing brands and creators like them for merch drops.

Golf Hats

A clean, sporty look for golf tournaments, client outings and anyone who spends the day outside.

Beanies

Knit beanies take embroidery well and are the cold-weather pick for staff gear, gifts and winter merch.

See the styles we carry under Hats on our products page, or try them on at the showroom. We don’t decorate customer-supplied hats; choosing from our selection keeps quality and timing in our hands.

Stitched Logo or Custom Patch?

There are two main ways to put your design on a hat, and we do both in-house:

Direct Embroidery (from 12 hats)

Your logo is stitched straight into the front panel. Clean, durable and classic, and the right call for most company hats.

Custom Patches (from 50 pieces)

We make embroidered, woven, rubber or leather patches and secure them to the hat. Patches give you a bordered, badge-style look, woven patches hold finer detail, and leather or rubber feel premium. They’re also handy when you want the same patch on hats, jackets and fleece.

Not sure which fits? Send us your logo and tell us how you plan to use the hats, and we’ll recommend one. For more on stitching, see our embroidery services.

Designing a Logo for a Hat

A hat front is small and curved, so a logo that works on a business card or a shirt back sometimes needs a little adjusting:

  • Think wide, not tall. Hat fronts have more room side to side than top to bottom, so horizontal logos and wordmarks usually fit best.
  • Keep text big enough to read. Tiny taglines, phone numbers and web addresses tend to fill in with thread. A simpler front mark looks better from across the room.
  • Go solid. Thread colors are solid, so gradients and shading are simplified. A one- to three-color version of your logo often stitches cleanest.
  • Check contrast. A dark logo on a dark hat disappears. Your proof shows the thread colors on the hat you picked so you can judge before production.

We review your artwork for free and show you exactly how it will sit on your hat in a digital proof. Production starts only after you approve and pay, and orders can’t be changed once they’re in production, so the proof is the time to get it right.

Custom Hat FAQs

Answers to the questions we hear most about custom hats.

Have another question? Call (702) 685-6270 or send us a message.

What’s the minimum order for custom hats?

12 hats per embroidered design, plus a $45 embroidery setup fee. Custom patches start at 50 pieces. You can mix hat colors and styles in one order as long as the logo, size and thread colors are the same.

Can I mix hat colors in one order?

Yes. As long as the design, size and thread colors stay the same, you can split the order across hat colors and styles. If you want different thread colors on different hats, ask us how that affects your order.

Which hat style should I choose?

We carry flat bills, truckers, dad hats, baseball-style caps in mid and high profile, golf hats and snapbacks. Structured caps hold their shape and show a logo crisp and flat, so they’re the most popular for company and brand hats. Unstructured dad hats feel softer and suit smaller, simpler logos. Come try them on at the showroom.

Embroidery or a patch: which is better for hats?

Direct embroidery is the classic, durable choice for most company hats and starts at 12. Patches (embroidered, woven, rubber or leather, from 50 pieces) give a badge-style or premium look and work well when you want the same patch across hats, jackets and fleece.

Can you put my full logo on a hat?

Usually, with small adjustments. Hat fronts are small and curved, so we may suggest dropping tiny text or simplifying colors. You’ll see it on a free digital proof before anything is stitched.

Can I bring my own hats for you to embroider?

No. We don’t decorate customer-supplied items. Pick from our hat selection so we can control quality and timing.

How long do custom hats take?

Standard turnaround is 2 weeks from proof approval and payment. Rush may be available for a fee depending on our schedule, so tell us your date when you request a quote.
